Livelihoods, Skills, and Wellbeing

The Sisterhood creates opportunities for women to develop skills, resources and confidence to better survive life in transit as refugees, and prepare for the future.

With the support of our volunteers, we run weekly classes both online and at our community centre in South Jakarta.

In 2025, we offered eight different types of classes across three terms—including tailoring, make up, first aid, crochet, macramé, fitness, English, and poundfit.

In total, there were 420 enrolments, with 275 women from 13 countries taking part.  Many members joined more than one class, and several courses were offered at different levels, allowing women to continue building their skills over time.

Beyond practical learning, these classes created opportunities for women to connect, share knowledge, and strengthen confidence in a supportive community.
